PCOF | Peninsula Communities of Faith

The Peninsula Communities of Faith (PCOF) is a not-for-profit, 501c3 service based corporation serving the humanitarian needs of neighbors and creating positive changes in the Gig Harbor and Kitsap / Key Peninsula communities. Comprised principally of volunteers from local community faith and service based organizations, PCOF enables single entities such as churches and other service organizations to enjoin together for mutual assistance to the one and many, and to leverage our collective offerings to the community as a whole. PCOF has no direct religious affiliation and is independent in its stature.

FOOD BACKPACKS 4 KIDS is a community effort to ensure that those who need food on the weekends have access to nutritious and easy-to-prepare food. The difference this makes is a more alert and eager-to-learn student Monday morning: a student who is less disruptive and who is able to focus on academics.

A child who is well fed because of the generosity of neighbors looks to those neighbors with a sense of appreciation through the years. This child cares about you because you have cared about her, because someone cares enough to help during his family’s tough time.

The focus of the PENINSULA HOMELESS INITIATIVE is to support families who may be at imminent risk of homelessness, and to assist those who have already fallen into homelessness. This support may be immediate, such as providing food and temporary shelter or help paying bills; or sustaining, including services to rebuild and maintain stability and self-sufficiency, such as assistance obtaining counseling, education, job training, and employment. The PCoF has teamed with area churches and other organizations to provide these services.
